Nobody is excluded from understanding the peace message of music sent by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. All the residents of Vienna and guests in the city are invited to participate and to enjoy a world of music documenting the different facings of the European soul. This year’s concert is focussing on the Russian heritage of Europe. In the name of the Austrian Federal Government I invite You to this music journey into a united Europe and welcome You in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site Schönbrunn.

The concert of the powerful and rulers has been often in disharmony with the ones being ruled. The concert of classical music however represents harmony. The „Concert for Europe“, taking place this year for the fourth time in the ensemble of Schönbrunn Palace, makes an attempt to trace the sound path of Europe in its unity – for music builds up the unity of this culture area past all the languages and idioms.
