 This year’s „Concert for Europe“ in the garden of the Schönbrunn Palace is part of a four years continuing tradition. Music and tradition are of special relevance for Austria – they represent our cultural roots and at the same time our openness to new developments. Especially our opening towards Europe and the internationalisation by joining the European Union brought about a modernisation and more successful development for Austria in the last years.
Today with the „Schönbrunn Concert - Concert for Europe“ we send a message of solidarity and cooperation to the whole of Europe. Just like a united Europe removes separating borders, music overcomes boundaries emphasizing the connective elements. With this concert, which millions of people will watch on tv all over Europe, we make an important contribution in strengthening the idea of Europe. I am convinced that we will experience this year again an absolutely high-class concert and an unforgettable evening. |
