 Music and electricity have a lot in common. Last but not least they connect all the people in the world beyond national borders and international states. Yet electricity is merely supporting the universal proliferation of music. In this sense we from Verbund perceive ourselves as a mediator providing a truly important medium. Our business is electricity, our heart belongs to its positive impacts: light & heat, power & motion, information & entertainment.
Verbund today is a European electricity company based with its heart in Austria. We generate electrical energy primarily from hydropower, transport and sell it in the whole of Europe. But we are also engaging outside the European Union, e.g. in Turkey and in the Russian Federation. Therefore we see it as a privilege and a great pleasure to make our contribution as main sponsor also to this year’s „Concert for Europe“, already the fourth. It has yet become an outstanding music highlight of Austria. We welcome especially Russia as guest of the concert represented by the famous conductor and the music of famous Russian composers. So we wish the „Concert for Europe“ that it will inspire the audience and contribute to the communication and understanding of people all over the world.Dr. Michael Pistauer
